Help John Give Pediatric Cancer “The Boot” At The Statesville Business Expo

On Thursday, March 29th, I will be participating in the Statesville Business Expo on Behalf of CureSearch and Ultimate Hike 2012. I will be in the Sir Speedy booth from 11:30 AM until 1:00PM, handing out brochures and prizes, and answering questions about Ultimate Hike. I will also be accepting donations in “the boot” on behalf of CureSearch.

This year’s expo is back at the Statesville Civic Center where more than 50 local businesses will be showcasing their products and services. Come out and enjoy the networking atmosphere, attend seminars, and enjoy onsite demonstrations. Lunch is available for purchase from Lone Star Steakhouse and The 220 Café. And, of course, be sure to stop by the Sir Speedy booth and say hello.

Contribute $250 to Ultimate Hike 2012 and Spend a Day on the Lake or in the Woods with John

Each donor contributing $250 or more to John’s Ultimate Hike 2012 effort will have the opportunity to spend a day either on the lake or in the woods with John.

The day on the lake will consist of up to 6 hours of kayak angling or nature paddling on either Mountain Island Lake or Lake Norman in John’s 14 foot Perception Prodigy tandem kayak. . Both Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake offer great fishing right next to shore. Everything you need will be provided; rods, bait, PFD’s, water… even a picnic lunch. Or, if fishing is not your thing, request the nature paddle; up to six hours of peaceful kayaking and photography along some of the most picturesque shoreline in the Carolinas.
For the more adventurous, $250 donors can choose to accompany John on one of his upcoming training day-hikes: March 31st at South Mountains State Park; April 14th at Lake Norman State Park; April 28th at Crowders Mountain State Park or May 12th at Latta Plantation Nature Preserve. Please note that these will be 15 mile+ hikes and participants will need to be in good physical condition and have appropriate equipment (boots, backpack, water bottles). The duration of the hike will be approximately 6 hours. A picnic lunch and trail snacks will be provided.
All $250 contributors will also receive an exclusive NC Outdoors “Boot” long sleeve button-down shirt.
